Learn How to See Devices that Access your Google Account

I had  message from google this afternoon and reads"Hi Nartey, We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account [vkutufam@gmail.com]. Sign-in attempt details Date & Time: Thursday, 7 May, 10:43 p.m. GMT Location: Accra, Ghana ". This intruder was trying to sign in my account from Ghana capital city, ACCRA. I decide to share with you how you see a lists of devices that have accessed your account in the last 28 days or are currently signed in to your account

You can see a list of devices that have accessed your account in the last 28 days or are currently signed in to your account by visiting the Devices & activity page. You’ll also see details about your last activity on each device, like the last time and place you used it to access your account. You can use this information to remove access to your account from a device or change your password if you notice suspicious activity.

Review your last activity on a device

  1. Go to the Google Accounts security tab
  2. In the “Recent activity” box, click Devices & activity.
  3. You’ll see a list of devices that have signed in to your account in the last 28 days or are currently signed in to your account.
  4. Click on a device to see your last activity on it, including the last date and time it connected to Google. For example, if you have apps that automatically sync with Google, you’ll see the last time they synced.

                             Check for suspicious activity

You can use the information shown on your Devices & activity page to check for the following signs of suspicious activity:
  • Device: You see a device in the list that you don’t recognize.
    • Please note that if you recently factory reset your device, it may still appear in the list.
  • Location: You see activity from a place you haven’t been.
  • Date & Time: You see your account has been accessed at a date or time you don’t remember. Note that we show the last time the device connected to Google, so if you’ve set up sync for your calendar, gmail or any other Google products, you may see a time that is more recent than you remember using that device.
  • Browser: You notice access to your account from a browser you don’t usually use, like activity from Firefox when you usually use Chrome.
If you notice anything unusual, take a look at some reasons why activity might seem unfamiliar, but still be yours. If you’re still unsure about the activity, and think someone else may have access to your account, follow the steps to secure your account.

                                Remove device access

If you lose a device or notice any suspicious activity on it, you should remove the device’s access to your account.
  1. Go to your Devices & activity page.
  2. Click on the device.
  3. Click Remove access.
  4. If you don’t see a button to remove access, follow the steps to secure your account.

                        Remove access button missing

Please note the remove access button is currently only available for Google apps on Android and iOS devices. If you’d like to remove access from other kinds of devices like your laptop, follow the steps to secure your account.
